Canon History: The HSR Wiki is a mess and while it lists all of Amphoreus's history, including what happens in the actual time we arrive as the Trailblazer, Phainon's actual lore on his page does not solo out his involvement, so I put a summary over here.
Canon Personality:
POSITIVE:
☀︎ Kindhearted man who truly wants the best for Amphoreus and her people.
☀︎ A strong leader in times of crises and uncertainty.
☀︎ Follows the idea of being a "hero-" wants to help others fulfill their wishes as part of his wish.
☀︎ Supportive and really friendly to a LOT of people, a LOT.
☀︎ No seriously, it takes a lot to get him mad.
☀︎ This does not mean he is a pushover- he has boundaries and firmly knows where he stands with them.
☀︎ He's akin to a very excitable puppy around the people he loves and cherishes.
☀︎ Through 33 million cycles, he has managed to hold onto his promise to use Destruction to destroy Destruction, to wait for the one actually meant to deliver Amphoreus from her cruel fate; while he lost his humanity in the process, he has never let go of all his emotions or his heart- knowing full well he has to still be true to himself and to everyone he's made this promise to.

☀︎ Born as an only child to a normal life with a father and mother, he was a good child and there was nothing out of the ordinary for Phainon when he was a young boy.
☀︎ Unfortunately, this didn't last long- when he was eight, tragedy struck. A fire broke out in his family's apartment complex, and he was the only one to survive of the three in his home. The fire and consequential death of his parents as well as other people he knew brought back his memories of the burning of Aedes Elysiae, starting Phainon's horrendous journey into remembering the millions of memories he held from his past life.
☀︎ He had no close family nearby, and no one seemed to want to take him in, so he was placed within the foster system for his hometown. Because of his trauma and the slow trickle of memories starting to show up, Phainon usually came across as a problem child. If he wasn't an issue for his temporary foster parents, he would still be a bit of a troublemaker and be a gremlin. More often than not, he would stay with one family for months, only to be shuffled around suddenly and put in a new home right after.
☀︎ By the age of 13, he was tired and incredibly lonely. He hated moving anywhere, he caused problems to get people to notice him, and he always felt like the odd one out. Not to mention that the memories he kept receiving only made him more confused and upset. This eventually caught up to him when he was one day approached by agents of the Black Order. They offered him answers for the weird visions he kept seeing, as well as a place to stay and not have to move from constantly. Phainon felt like this choice was better than staying where he was, stuck in a system that didn't want him in the first place, so he agreed.
☀︎ The Black Order put him in the trainee program because of his age, placing him with a mentor until he was old enough to be placed in the actual program. At first, he was assigned to a recon team that worked in scouting out things ahead of time- but it was quickly discovered that Phainon was exceptionally talented as a fighter. His swordsmanship and sheer strength was enough to place him in another team that went into the thick of things, and it was here that he truly began to be a gremlin once he learned about the actual policies of TBO (which he didn't agree with at all).
☀︎ He continued to be a little shit and a teenager, just barely skirting out of serious trouble on and off over the years. Phainon was reprimanded and corrected for his behavior plenty of times, and he would go back to being on good behavior, eventually resorting back to being a gremlin and getting away with as much as he could without crossing a line for it.
☀︎ By the time he hit 21, the penalties and threats became more serious. His own teammates were used as collateral if he went against orders or questioned them, and it forced him back in line time and time again, often frustrating him. But he obeyed, if begrudgingly, to make sure others weren't hurt for his actions.
☀︎ After one fateful and devastating mission when he was 24, Phainon lost most of his teammates, bringing back the memories of losing the Chrysos Heirs. The mission was a poorly crafted suicide task left to his team to clean up a mess that TBO executed with very little care for the damage in the aftermath. After remembering losing so many so close to him, it triggered Phainon's memories of Khaslana, and more importantly, Khaslana's will to resist and rebel no matter how long it took. Afterward, Phainon refused to return back to base when ordered to, abandoning everything he had to do with the Black Order and leaving everything behind without a second thought.
☀︎ Once TBO realized these memories had awoken, they chased after him, eventually confronting him. Through sly and dirty methods, TBO managed to capture and place him in cryosleep for however long until they could figure of a way to deal with him. It's been four years since then.
AU Personality Differences:
☀︎ Phainon is 500% more stable in this iteration because he's had almost two decades to process the amount of memories he had as Khaslana. While he isn't carrying all 33,550,336 cycles worth, nor any of the coreflames Khaslana held by the end of that, he's still gotten plenty of mindfuckery to sort through and piece the story together himself.
☀︎ He has his own sense of self. Without an end of the world scenario on his shoulders, or being expected to be the "hero" or "deliverer" for whatever may come, Phainon has decided to try and do what he never got to do in his past life. Meaning he's just a guy who wants to get out of TBO's grip, and live his life with pretty simple things to them: have a dog, have a job, enjoy what he does, and have friends.
☀︎ Despite his shit childhood, he's kinder for it and doesn't hold any sort of anger like Khaslana did for his fate. Phainon accepts it for what it is, but he refuses to bow to it if it isn't something he agrees with (hence why he got put on ice for four years).
